The early diagonal road shown on the above map still exists in Section 16 Medina Township, 
as Gallop Road (above the "ed" in Medina).  This national map of 1851 shows the importance of Medina and Canandaigua as early centers of commerce.



Dotted line shows route of old proposed Medina Canandaigua Railroad that was never built.  It is still shown on an 1874 Lenawee County map.
